What
are the student requirements?
Students
should have a minimum USHGA Hang 3 rating or equivalent,
thermal
soaring experience and be proficient at landing.
Can
I rent a glider at WTA?
Gliders
are available for rent from The Wallaby Ranch.
Can
I get my Aerotow sign off at WTA?
Yes,
you can get your aerotow sign off at the Wallaby Ranch before starting
your training program.
I
have never done an XC flight before, is WTA for me?
Yes,
our experienced WTA instructor pilots will make your first XC experience
enjoyable, educational and safe.
What
instruments will I need?
Variometer,
2 meter ham radio and GPS are recommend.
Data
back camera is needed for comp clinics.
What
about XC retrieval?
Students
need to provide their own retrieval vehicle with racks, drivers
are available for hire.
Where
can I stay at during my clinic at WTA?
Camping
and a bunkhouse are available at the Wallaby Ranch. Contact the
Ranch regarding near by motels.
What
will be my extra expenses during my clinic?
Students
will be responsible for camping/motels, tows, tow sign off if required,
retrieval fees if needed, and meals.
